The Student Guide to Social Media is a really useful online resource produced jointly by the Universities of Leeds, York and Manchester to share information and ideas on how students can use social media to help with their work or boost their employability.
Students share their stories and tips for using a variety of platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Slideshare. Thoughtfully, the guide lets you explore by platform (so for example you can find out more about Twitter and why it might be useful) or you can explore by task (so for example you can find out which tools will help you work with others or find information.
There is also a handy glossary and some invaluable dos and don’ts.
The project team were: Sam Aston and Jade Kelsall at Manchester, Michelle Schneider and Carla Harwood at Leeds and Ned Potter and Chris Millson at York.
